Careers in LibrariesThe traditional concept of a library is being redefined from a place to access paper records or books to one that also houses the most advanced electronic resources, including the Internet, digital libraries, and remote access to a variety of information sources. There are a wide range of career opportunities in an array of library settings. For those who are just starting to think about a career in the stacks, check out the ALA's web site, www.librarycareers.org, which answers such questions as "What is librarianship about?" and "What kind of library offers the best match for my interests?" This display features a few of the careers available to persons interested in working in libraries. All books on display are available for check-out. Just take the book you want to any circulation desk. |
