Rate:

$9.04 - $9.85 per hour, depending upon experience.

Hours:

Up to 19.5 hours per week.
Monday - Friday, between 8 am and 5 pm

Duties:

  • Provides in-person and telephone assistance as the first point of contact at the Reserves Public Service Desk; answers basic questions regarding Reserve policies and procedures; oversees Reserves unit in the absence of Reserves staff
  • Digitizes materials for electronic Reserves:  maintains processing log, monitors reprints for quality and accuracy, scans or converts materials to PDF, creates ERes course pages, posts materials to ERes system
  • Processes materials for physical Reserve: retrieves or requests materials, updates spreadsheets, prepares materials for shelving, creates Course Reserve records, adds/removes materials to/from Reserve
  • Maintains accurate shelving of physical Reserves on a weekly basis
  • Keeps Reserves staff informed about all problems related to physical and electronic Reserves
  • Assists with quarterly statistics
  • Maintains inventory of Reserve supplies
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

    • Excellent customer service and communication skills
    • Must be available to work during interim
    • Must be accurate and detail-oriented
    • Ability to keyboard minimum of 50 WPM
    • Must be able to push, pull and lift 40 lbs
    • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high volume setting
    • Must meet minimum enrollment requirements as established by the UW and CCC

      Desired Qualifications:

      • One year customer service experience
      • Proficient with Millennium Circulation software
      • Proficient with searching the UW Libraries Catalog and research databases
      • Knowledge of scanners and scanning software
      • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

      Other Details:

      • Position starts December 17, 2012
      • Requires continuous keyboarding, scanning, and other repetitive hand/wrist motions.
      • This position is open to students enrolled in degree programs at either the University of Washington or Cascadia Community College
