Up to 19.5 hours per week. Schedule varies.


Under the general supervision of Library Technology Services staff, assist and instruct Library patrons in the use of computer software and hardware to access Library resources, and complete academic work (for example: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, web editing, scanning, and file transfer applications).

  • Assist in the maintenance of computer workstations in the Bothell Campus Library Information Commons, computer classrooms and common areas.
  • Provide in-person and telephone technical support for on and off-campus access to resources, including the UW Libraries NetID authenticated online resources.
  • Circulate, re-image and assist in the maintenance of circulating laptop computers, and other duties as assigned.
  • This position will work closely with other Library staff to provide service in support of UW Bothell and Cascadia students research, writing, and presentation needs.

The Library features more than 150 Windows PC's, most with Microsoft Office, Internet access, and other programs and applications to support student and faculty research. In addition, there are six scanning workstations, an adaptive technology workstation, and a fee-based print and copy service.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Must have a strong commitment to providing high quality customer service.
    • Experience using the internet to connect to web resources and cloud services.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Must be a current UW Bothell or Cascadia student enrolled for at least 6 academic credits.
    • Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
    • Must be familiar with the UWB/CC co-located campus and its resources.
    • Ability to learn new software and adapt to the changing needs of the Campus Library and Information Commons.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Ability to resolve computer hardware/software/connectivity problems.
    • Experience working independently and collaboratively to resolve issues, and provide support.
    • Experience using Windows PC's and familiarity with Macintosh computers.

    Work location for this position is the UW Bothell Campus Library. Work Study students eligible and encouraged to apply.
