Hours:

  • 15 hours per week
  • 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday, exact schedule to be arranged

Duties:

      • Work in Libraries' book conservation department, performing hand methods of pamphlet binding and box construction for library materials.
      • Applicant will learn preparation and hand sewing of materials into prefabricated pamphlet
        binders, construction of covers and pockets for music scores and parts, and custom-sized boxes.
      • Use excellent hand skills including measuring, cutting, folding, gluing, and sewing
      • May include other related tasks

          Required Qualifications:

                • Manual dexterity, precision and attention to detail
                • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
                • Personal reliability and flexibility
                • Willingness to perform repeated tasks
                • Ability to read music
                • Interest in working for two or more quarters, including summer quarter
                      Desired Qualifications:
                        • Past experience performing related hand skills
                        • Interest in books, binding, or library preservation
                        • Patience and sense of humor!
