Hours:

12-15 hours per week; schedule negotiable.

Duties:

Under the general supervision of the Data Services Coordinator, the student chosen for this position will assist in various projects undertaken by the program. Duties may include:

  • Updating the online Data Management Guide
  • Developing data management consultation materials
  • Customization of UW templates on the DMPTool
  • Developing online training videos
  • Communicating news and information related to data management on the Data Services blog or Twitter handle

Required Qualifications:

  • B.A./B.S. degree
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with computers, searching techniques, and the Internet
  • Inquisitiveness and initiative, including the ability to do and learn on your own
  • Experience or interest in data management/data curation
  • Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new and emerging technologies
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Flexibility in a changing environment
  • Available through June 2015.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in creating and preparing multimedia (images, audio and/or video) for the web
  • Knowledge of or experience with web development or online instructional design

Other Details:

This a limited duration position, from Fall through Spring quarter of the 2014-15 academic year.
