Schedule:

Saturdays from 1-5 pm, alternating with one other person; other shifts to be determined

Duties:

    In consultation with the Head Map Collection and the Map Collection Technician, develop and implement processes to do the two following projects:

    • Inventory, prioritize and process gift maps
    • Inventory, prioritize, and process gift aerial photo sets

    In addition, perform the work of a Map Collection Student Technician:

    • File maps, aerial photos and atlases
    • Staff the Government Publications, Maps and Microforms/Newspapers service desk which includes helping users locate and check out materials, and answer phones
    • Staff the library alone when regular library staff are not present
    • Process new and gift maps, including data entry in the UW Libraries online catalog
      Required Qualifications:
        • Strong attention to detail
        • Must have excellent communications skills
        • Must have reliable attendance

          Desired Qualifications:

          • Library research experience
          • Coursework in geography, geology or experience using topographic maps
