OUGL work day and hours:  Sun, 11:30am to 3:00am; Mon-Thurs, 5:00am to 3:00am; Fri, 5:00am to 8:00pm; Sat, 8:00am to 8:00pm

16 hours per week

Must work all of the following hours: Mon, 10PM-3AM; Tues, 7PM-10PM; Wed, 5AM-8AM; Thurs, 7PM-10PM; Fri, 6PM-8PM

Specific schedule and number of hours subject to change after Autumn quarter.

Start Date: Immediately


    • Staff the Entry and Information desks
    • Assists with ID checks and security walkthroughs
    • Performs basic circulation processing tasks
    • Shelves and shifts materials
    • Inventories the collection; searches for missing volumes; and retrieves library materials
    • Does routine filing in alphabetical or numerical files
    • Assists in routine marking and processing of library materials
    • Keeps routine statistical records
    • May receive, unpack, sort and deliver mail, gifts and other material
    • May assist in opening and closing procedures of library
    • Other duties as required


      Required Qualifications:


          • Able to work two or more times per week for the academic year Monday to Friday, 5:00AM to 8:00AM and/or Sunday to Friday, 10:00PM to 3:00AM (other unspecific hours may be available, too)
          • Able to work on holidays Odegaard is open and during finals week
          • Excellent attendance
          • Customer service experience
          • Detail oriented
          • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
          • Able to explain complex procedures, both in person and over the phone

            Desired Qualifications:

              • Previous library work experience

                Other Details:

                • Odegaard Library student employees work a minimum of 10 hours per week but not more than 19.5 hours per week for all campus jobs
