Hours:

OUGL work day and hours:  Sun, 11:30am to 3:00am; Mon-Thurs, 5:00am to 3:00am; Fri, 5:00am to 8:00pm; Sat, 8:00am to 8:00pm

Weekly hours / schedule: 10 to 19.5

  • Several Sunday to Thursday overnight shifts from 10:00PM to 3:00AM, AND/OR several Monday to Friday early morning shifts from 5:00AM to 8:00AM
  • May be scheduled for additional hours between 8:00AM to 10:00PM and 12:00PM to closing on Saturday and Sunday
Start Date: 22 September, 2014

Duties:

    • Staff the entry and Information desks
    • Shelves and shifts library materials
    • Performs basic circulation processing tasks
    • Inventories the collection, searches for missing volumes, and retrieves library materials
    • Does routine filing in alphabetical or numerical files
    • Assists in routine marking and processing of library materials
    • Keeps routine statistical records
    • Receives, unpacks, sorts and delivers mail, gifts and other material
    • May assist in opening and closing procedures of the library
    • May assist with ID checks and security walk-throughs
    • Other duties as required

       

      Required Qualifications:

         

          • Available to work two or more Sunday to Thursday overnight shifts from 10:00PM to 3:00AM, AND/OR two or more Monday to Friday early morning shifts from 5:00AM to 8:00AM; may be scheduled for additional hours between 8:00AM to 10:00PM and 12:00PM to closing on Saturday and Sunday
          • Excellent attendance
          • Detail-oriented
          • Customer service experience
          • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
          • Conversational fluency in English
          • Available to work two consecutive quarters

            Desired Qualifications:

              • Previous library work experience

                Other Details:

                • Required to work on holidays OUGL is open and during finals week
                • Odegaard Library student employees work a minimum of 10 hours per week but not more than 19.5 hours per week for all campus jobs
                • Able to attend training sessions on Monday, September 22 and Tuesday, September 23 (time to be determined) if hired
