OUGL work day and hours:  Sun, 11:30am to 3:00am; Mon-Thurs, 5:00am to 3:00am; Fri, 5:00am to 8:00pm; Sat, 8:00am to 8:00pm

14 to 19.5 hours per week

Required to work the following hours:  Sun, 10:00pm-3:00am; Mon, noon-2:00pm; Wed, 10:00pm-3:00am; Fri, 10:00am-noon.

May add any part of the following hours:  Sun, 3:00pm-6:00pm; Wed, noon-2:00pm

Start Date: Immediately


    • Staff the entry and Information desks
    • Shelve and shift library materials
    • Perform basic circulation processing tasks
    • Take inventory of the collection, search for missing volumes, and retrieve library materials
    • Routine filing in alphabetical or numerical files
    • Assist in routine marking and processing of library materials
    • Keep routine statistical records
    • Receive, unpack, sort and deliver mail, gifts and other material
    • May assist in opening and closing procedures of the library
    • May assist with ID checks and security walk-throughs
    • Other duties as required


      Required Qualifications:


          • Able to work the required days and times for winter quarter
          • Able to work at least two overnight shifts (10p-3A) each week for spring quarter
          • Excellent attendance
          • Detail-oriented
          • Customer service experience
          • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
          • Conversational fluency in English
          • Available to work two consecutive quarters

            Desired Qualifications:

              • Previous library work experience

                Other Details:

                • Required to work on holidays OUGL is open and during finals week
                • Odegaard Library student employees work a minimum of 10 hours per week but not more than 19.5 hours per week for all campus jobs
