Hours:

10-19.5 hours per week. Schedule to be arranged between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday.

Duties:
|
- Assist Curator with accessions, correspondence and donor outreach
- Search complex printed and online bibliographic tools in support of adding materials to Special Collections
- Arrange and describe archival collections according to Describing Archives: A Content Standard, and other standards in consultation with the Curator
- Prepare inventories and finding aids of archival collections using a variety of software, including XMetal, Google Drive, Microsoft Excel
- May research, write, compose, edit and/or revise electronic documents
- Re-house materials as necessary
- Retrieve and reshelve record storage boxes
- Perform research using primary and secondary sources on the historical context of the collection

Required Qualifications:
|
- Bachelor's degree
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Careful attention to detail
- Must be able and willing to lift boxes weighing up to 40 pounds and climb stepladders
- Ability to perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to handle fragile items with care
- Ability to work independently
- Must be able to tolerate working with dusty materials

Desired Qualifications:
|
- Currently enrolled in a Masters program at the University of Washington
- Library, archival or museum experience
|
