6 to 8   hours per week; Monday - Thursday


  • Prepare digital content for ingest into digital preservation systems, performing image quality control, folder organization, file renaming and de-duplication, generating checksums, file format validation, and other processes using a variety of software and operating systems.
  • Data entry into Excel and other spreadsheet and database programs for tracking purposes.
  • Searching library catalogs, finding aids, and databases for information.
  • Provide basic assistance to library staff regarding procedures and location of materials.
  • Perform stacks cleaning as needed and load, unload, and move full book carts.
  • May assist with preparation of library materials for circulation, commercial binding, or digitization.
  • Assist with special projects and other department duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with both Mac/Linux and Windows-based operating systems.
  • An ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to push and steer fully load book carts and ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Strong commitment to serving a diverse group of users and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers and other library staff.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in a library.
  • Experience with library catalogs and metadata.
  • Experience with the command line interface in Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with digital curation tools and software.
  • Experience with operating virtual machines.
