$11.00 per hour


8 to 15 hours per week; schedule to be determined


  • Assists with the surveying of materials throughout the Libraries to gather information for preservation and conservation planning.
  • Enters data on spreadsheets using Excel.
  • Searches the library catalog and archival finding aids for basic information.
  • Projects may include working with rare books and archival material as well as legacy digital and audiovisual media.
  • Other tasks may be assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Excellent attention to detail, patience, and organizational skills
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
    • Basic computer skills
    • Ability to follow detailed instructions
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Will be required to lift 40 pounds regularly, climb on step stools/ladders, and work standing up for several hours
    Desired Qualifications:
    • A flexible schedule is preferred: students will be expected to work as part of a team
    • Experience with archival materials and methods
    • Experience with and interest in various legacy digital formats (floppy disks etc.) and/or audiovisual formats (VHS, UMatic, audio cassettes) and/or rare books
    • Familiarity with Libraries databases and EAD finding aids
