Changes to Summit requesting process are in effect

Summit and Orbis Cascade Alliance content are now integrated in Libraries Search

Content from the thirty-seven libraries within the Orbis Cascade Alliance is now fully integrated into UW Libraries Search (Beta), which can also be accessed via UW Worldcat. This system is called “Summit.” As a result of this integration, the Libraries has rolled out enhancements and changes to the Summit requesting process.

How do I request Summit items?

  • To request Summit items, click the "Request via Summit ~about 5 days" link from item record from within UW Libraries Search (Beta).
    • Because you have already logged in, the system will know who you are when you place the request.
  • Fill out the request form, select your preferred pickup location, and click “Submit.”
    • Note! If your request is for an item, volume, or part of a multi-part item, please indicate this in the “Volume” field. Example: “Volume 37,” or “CD.” Place one request for each item, volume, or part that you need.
  • In approximately five days, you will receive an email notifying you that your requested item is ready for pickup.
  • If your request cannot be filled, you will receive an email update notifying you that your Summit request was cancelled. (When this happens, it is usually because all available copies are checked out or do not circulate.)
    • If you would like to continue with the request, you will need to place a new request using Interlibrary Loan.
    • You can do this through one of these two options:
  • Click the link provided in the email, or
  • Log into your Interlibrary Loan account, select “Borrow a Book,” and complete the form.

You can view or cancel Summit requests in the Your Library Account interface.
