From the Vice Provost and Dean - April 2018

Welcome, University Press

Greetings of spring!

Please join me in welcoming the University Press into our fold as of March 1. The Press and the Libraries currently collaborate on a number of joint initiatives including exploration of digital publishing platforms, open access publishing, open educational resources development, and support for digital scholarship.  We welcome the opportunity to work as partners as publishing models continue to evolve. University Press authors will be among the writers at Literary Voices on May 3. Barbara Johns, Stevan Harrell, Robert Michael Pyle and Ingrid Walker will join more than 24 other authors and keynote speaker, Ted Chiang, winner of four Nebula awards. His short story "Story of Your Life" was the basis of the film Arrival (2016).  If you don’t have your tickets, I urge you to get them soon. Proceeds benefit Libraries Student employee scholarships.

Friends of the Libraries has staged this inspiring event since 2006. I hope to see you there!
