Oregon Commission on Black Affairs

Although this commission lost its funding in 2003, due to budget cuts, it still maintains a web presence. Its purpose is to monitor existing programs and legislation at the state government level, to act as a liaison between the government and the African American community and to encourage African American participation in the state government process.

Oregon Fair Employment Practices Advisory Committee.
Formed in 1949 with the passage of Oregon's Fair Employment Practices Act, the Committee investigated discriminatory labor practices within the state. It also produced a range of educational materials for distribution to employers, unions and schools.

The Commission is an excellent resource for citizens and for information concerning Washington State's African American population. Formally established in 1992. it supports and encourages the development and implementation of policies and practices to improve the health and well-being of the African American community. ,/p>

Washington State Minority and Justice Commission

A part of the Washington State Courts, this commission is a rich source of published materials, including annual reports, a newsletter, a number of special topic reports and other publications, many of which are available electronically.
