The Media Center houses the UW Libraries' main collection of audiovisual materials, consisting of 35,000 items in a variety of formats including VHS, DVDs, CDs, audio cassettes, and LPs. Our collections include feature films, documentaries, television shows, music and spoken word sound recordings, that cover a broad and interdisciplinary range of subjects and genres.

The Media Center, located on the mezzanine level of the Odegaard Undergraduate Library, has 40 media viewing carrels available for use when the library is open. Our equipment includes:
In addition to these playback stations UW community members can check out group study rooms. Eight of the group study rooms are equipped with 27" televisions. Seven of these have combo DVD\VHS players and one has a multi-region DVD player.
Services for Users with Disabilities: The Media Center has carrels designed for wheelchair and visually impaired users. An accessible elevator to the mezzanine is located at the west end of the library. Videos and DVDs with captioning are noted in the library catalog with the phrase "Video recordings for the hearing impaired" in the Genre/form field and items which are audio described are labeled with the phrase "Video Recordings For People With Visual Disabilities".
Odegaard has 7 group study rooms available with VCRs and DVD players. The rooms can accomodate 4 to 8 people. Please reserve a study room online and contact the Odegaard Information Desk at 206-543-2990 with any questions.
