In the over 30 years since its founding, the UW Libraries Media Center has amassed a collection and developed a range of services that places it among the top academic media collections in North America. We could not have accomplished this without the generosity and vision of friends, alumni, and faculty. The continued commitment of our university community is critical if we are to maintain the depth and breadth of our collections. As the cost of audiovisual materials and electronic resources continue to soar, purchasing power for media collections supported with state funds continues to shrink. Therefore, we ask you--the Media Center’s users and friends--to consider your role in securing the future of the Media Center’s extraordinary collections for future generations.
Gifts of Materials - The UW Libraries Media Center gratefully accepts gifts of audiovisual materials. Making a donation to the Archive is easy:
1. Contact the Media Center: You can call, stop by, or write to us and let us know what your materials consist of. Contact John Vallier for more information.
2. Donate Materials: If the materials fit within our collection development policy, we will set an up appointment to accept your donation.
Tax Deductions & Appraisals - Donations to the Media Center may be tax deductible. Professional appraisers should be contacted if you want your collection evaluated for tax purposes or for sale.
