About Odegaard

Pic 1

The Odegaard Undergraduate Library and Learning Commons, named for University of Washington President Emeritus Charles Odegaard, serves as a center for undergraduate instruction, learning, and technology.

The University of Washington is a large and complex environment. To new students and members of the general public, the academic library system can seem overwhelming. Odegaard is a good starting point.

Odegaard houses the largest course reserve system for disciplines not served by a branch library, the UW Libraries' Media Center, a 100-seat multimedia room, the 400-seat Learning Commons, several technology spaces, a writing and research center, a 145,000 volume collection that supports curriculum and study at the University, and building-wide wireless access. All of the facilities and services listed above make Odegaard one of the most collaborative undergraduate libraries in the country. The By-George restaurant, Husky Card office, and Visitors Information Center are located on the lower level of the Odegaard Library building.

You may have several questions regarding services available to you. The Odegaard website may provide answers to some of your questions. If not, we encourage you to visit a service desk or ask us!.
