Odegaard Undergraduate Library Exhibit PolicyThe Odegaard Undergraduate Library (OUGL) welcomes displays of original art and educational materials that support the academic mission of the University Libraries, the region’s premier academic and research library. The Libraries' mission is to promote the success of students, faculty, staff and programs of the University of Washington through knowledge, resources and services. View current Activities and Exhibits. Exhibits must enhance the academic mission of the library and not interfere with the trusted and welcoming environment of the library. SelectionThe decision to accept artwork for display in Odegaard rests entirely with the library. Upon acceptance, the library will make all decisions regarding placement, length of time for the display, publicity, and display removal. SponsorshipA University of Washington department or University Library staff member must sponsor all exhibits. Exhibits must be scheduled through the OUGL Building Coordinator. SchedulingAll exhibits are scheduled by the OUGL Building Coordinator in consultation with the Head of the Undergraduate Library and the Group on Odegaard Library Displays. SecurityThe Libraries cannot provide security for the exhibit at any time. The Libraries accepts no responsibility for damage to the exhibits at any time while in the Libraries or while being shipped to or from the Libraries. The exhibitor must complete an Exhibit Release Form (.pdf) before the display is installed. Shipping and Set-upIf library staff is to provide assistance, that assistance must be approved in advance. AnnouncementExhibitor must provide the Libraries with a short article for the Weekly Online News. They must also provide a statement for use at the Information Desk so the staff can answer basic questions. Library staff based on the supplied information will update the sign holder listing current exhibits. |
