Odegaard 40th Anniversary

Celebrate Odegaard Undergraduate Library at 40 years old as we prepare for a major renovation to the library. An exhibit will highlight Odegaard’s history in pictures.  The celebration kicks off with Husky Fest 2012, beginning April 19, 2012.

Odegaard Undergraduate Library has served the students of the University of Washington as a critical academic facility since it was first constructed in 1972. Forty years later, it remains the most utilized student study and research space on campus with more than 10,000 students per day passing through its doors.

Beginning June 9, 2012, Odegaard will temporarily close for renovation through September 23, 2012.  By George, the Newsstand, the Husky Card Account & ID Center, and the UW Visitor's Information Center will remain open on the ground level during the temporary closure.

Odegaard Library will reopen for fall quarter on September 24, 2012, with 24/5 access to the second and third floors with services including computing, course reserves, laptop loans, group and individual study spaces, collections, and writing, research, and technology assistance during the full year of renovation. The entire library, showcasing the renovated first floor, will open fall quarter 2013. For more information about the renovation, visit the Odegaard renovation blog.
