Mamoun Sakkal

Mamoun Sakkal has exhibited throughout the United States as well as in England, Syria, and Iran. Recently his art was displayed in "The First Painting Biennial of the Islamic World" at the Teheran Museum of Contemporary Art in Iran. Mr. Sakkal is a native of Aleppo, Syrai. He immigrated to the United States in 1978. He practices architecture, interior design, and graphic design, as well asprincipal of Sakkal Design School in Bothell, WA. He also teaches Islamic Art and Architecture for the UNiversity of Washington. His many awards include the first award in Kufi style in the Third International Calligraphy Competition in Turkey.
