Use these databases to find articles about your topic.

  • If the full text of the article is not available in the database, search the UW Libraries Catalog for the title of the magazine or journal to see if we have it available online in another database and/or in print in the library.

  • If the magazine or journal is not available online or in print, borrow a copy of it for free through Interlibrary Loan.

    Find books written about your topic. You can use books available in the UW Libraries and other libraries around the world. Some possible searches:

      Search this to find books held in libraries around the world.

      You can borrow books from most libraries for free using the UW Libraries Interlibrary Loan service. Click the "Current UW and Cascadia Students, Faculty, & Staff" link to log in. It takes about a week for the books to arrive, depending on where the library is located.

    Government Info and International Organizations

    Find information published by governments and international organizations related to your topic.

    • UW Libraries Catalog
      The Government Publications section of the UW Libraries is a federal depository library, thus it receives a copy of every document published by the US government. GovPubs also receives a large number of publications from international organizations including the United Nations and the World Bank.
