Michael is responsible for developing the Library’s information resources from and about Eastern Europe, the Baltics, Russia, and the former Soviet Union. He provides research and study support primarily to students, faculty and scholars associated with the Russian, East European and Central Asian Studies Program (Jackson School of International Studies), the Department of Slavic Languages and Literature, and the Department of Scandinavian Studies. He holds a PhD in Slavic Languages and Literatures from the University of Kansas (1985) and an MLS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1988)
