As Geography Librarian Anne works closely with faculty and students to connect them with the resources that will best support their research, teaching, and coursework. She also purchases geography materials for the Libraries' collection.
Anne also serves as Head, Map Collection & Cartographic Information Services managing its staff and operations, acquiring geospatial data, supervising maintenance of the Washington State Geospatial Data Archive (WAGDA), and managing the Libraries' GIS Lab.
Anne regularly visits classes and provides instruction on geography research methods and resources, resources and strategies for locating digital geospatial data, or to provide orientations to the Map Collection. Anne has taught several credit courses on research strategies including Geography 492: Library Research in Geography and Informatics 220: Information Problem Solving in Geography. She has frequently taught LIS529 Information Access in the Social Sciences for the Information School.
Since 1999 Anne has served as a faculty member for the Immersion Program, a 4.5 day professional development experience sponsored by the Association of College and Research Libraries/Institute for Information Literacy.
