About Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan provides borrowing, lending and document delivery services for UW and Non-UW patrons.

Please note Seattle campus Health Sciences and Social Work and UW Law School users are served by their respective libraries, NOT Interlibrary Loan.

UW affiliated: For current UW students, faculty, and staff (Bothell/Cascadia, Seattle, Tacoma campuses) we will provide the following services

Borrow material or obtain copies of articles not owned by the UW Libraries (items which can be requested through Summit will not be borrowed). This service is fully subsidized for UW-related needs. Material for personal or recreational use may be obtained for a fee.

Provide copies of articles from journals owned by the UW Libraries, fees may apply.

Non-UW affiliated: We will lend material or provide copies of articles from material owned by the UW Libraries as follows, fees apply

Libraries (loans and copies)
- OCLC members - request through OCLC Resource Sharing, our holding symbol is WAU
- Non-OCLC members - Create an Interlibrary Loan account to request material
Business (loans and copies) - Create an Interlibrary Loan account to request material
Individuals (copies only) - Create an Interlibrary Loan account to request material
